This is a gorgeous, high-altitude trail that offers up amazing views of the nearby mountain peaks. Also, this trail goes through the Kebler Pass aspen grove, one of the largest aspen groves & largest living organisms on the planet! Hiking this trail is worth it just for the aspens!
From Crested Butte, go west for 12 miles on Kebler Pass Road (country road 12). You can park at various places. Typically you would choose either trailhead (the Lake Irwin or Horse Ranch Park) or the top of Kebler Pass.
